Scale Model World 2019
The date was Friday 8th November and we all started making our way to Telford. A stop at the Air Baloon allowed a break for a very nice lunch and then it was the last leg up to Telford. The queue for wristbands was quite long, but eventually we got in. The table got set up reasonably quickly and then it was beer o'clock! The Chinese meal in the evening in Shifnal was well up to standards and no orange juice was spilled.
Saturday morning and many of the club were manning the cash desks and were instrumental in clearing the queues in very short order. The competition was a success for the club with Josey winning the Branch Champion's Award.
In addition, John Constable won silvers for his biplane entries and Andrew Prentis won a bronze in the Science Fiction classes. A complete list of club medals will be put up later...
Saturday evening was the banquet and the vast majority of the club were turned out very well with the exception of one numbskull forgetting his shoes and having to wear trainers! What is the world coming to, standards are slipping, its shocking!!!
After the banquet we had a surprise guest turn up, no less a person than Harry Hill!
No autographs were sought as he hadn't brough his pens with him!
On Sunday people started leaving early so there were a couple of team photos taken to try to get everyone included...
Over all a very good weekend! Congrats to Josey, our Champion of Champions!
